Over Memorial Day weekend, Lisa and I drove to Chicago. On our way we continued our efforts to see the burial place for all presidents. Near Louisville, KY we stopped to see the 12th President of the United States: Zachary Taylor.
Our first stop in Chicago was US Cellular Field to see a White Sox game. It was Robin Ventura bobblehead day, so it was fun to participate in that promotion.
The White Sox serve a Mexican corn dish that Lisa really enjoys. Corn, mayo, lime juice, butter, chili powder and cheese! YUM! (Actually it's pretty good.)
I'm still not sure what Southpaw (the Sox mascot) is, or what he is doing to this usher.
The game was fun. Lisa was cheering for the Indians, but the White Sox won. After the game we went to visit my aunt and uncle. It was nice to have dinner at their home and to catch up.
We were planning on spending Sunday in the city and Monday at a Cubs game, but a heat wave went through Chicago and the temperature climbed to 97 degrees. We were going to have to drive through the night on Monday to get to work on Tuesday, so we decided to bypass the heat and drive home early. It was still a great trip. Lisa is fun to road trip with.
