Lisa finally got her Tennessee wish. We always hear about the bears in the Smoky Mountains but we had not seen one. Today we went to the mountains. We figured it may be the last time we see it all green before the leaves start changing. Our friend John came with us.
We went to Cade's Cove. As always, it was very beautiful.
Here is our first bear! He was in the bushes eating berries and decided to come out and take a walk. He walked down to another set of trees and more berries.
When we stopped at the village there was a fawn and mother that ran right by us. The fawn is in the center of the photo and the mom is behind on the left.
It was a very active day for wildlife. We actually saw another bear on the other side of the Cove. Two bears in one day!
Afterward, we went to Gatlinburg for the evening.
We ate at Bubba Gump's. The food was great. We even answered most of the Forrest Gump trivia questions our waitress asked. We missed "What two famous musicians did Forrest meet?" and "How many Dr Peppers did Forrest drink at the White House?"
After dinner the day, and my life, became even better. That is because John showed us a place that sells fried Milky Ways!
Lisa had fried Oreos that were also very good!

Awesome pictures! How cool is it to see a bear!? I am glad you had a good time. I really want Bubba Gump's now... oddly enough we don't have good affordable seafood here. Your dessert looked awesome. Since we moved to "the south" we have learned that you can deep fry anything =)
